There is always a use for a card table and chairs. The instances in life that exclude the welcome appearance of card tables and chairs are few and far between for most people. A card table, at least, implies a casualness about the business at hand, be it a poker game, a lesson in a board game strategy or simply sitting in one of the matching chairs, or mismatched chairs if one if wild and free (or broke and having to collect discarded chairs from the curb) and drinking a beverage. Yes, a card table and chairs is the perfect anchor for fun activities or quiet contemplation, but unlike a folding dining table, it is not the place for ultra serious business. In the end, a card table and chairs is the best possible room accessory one can have, and this is especially true if there is little space in the living area. Imagine a small, one bedroom apartment occupied by a young person. If that young person installs a card table in the middle of the apartment and arranges four or more chairs around it, the apartment will soon fill up with other young people looking for a resting place or a good time. At the same time, the young person could have older adults, parents or relatives, for example, sit at the table and pitch them for the necessary required to purchase a folding card table and chairs that could accommodate even more guests. So, this card table and chairs had become the surface for a miniature factory, and the atmosphere was decidedly happy since the activity taking place on the table was producing productive and profitable activity for the person sitting in the chair.

Over the years I’ve had about six folding card tables and chairs, and I have to say they have served me quite well. I remember one card table that was nothing but a table at which I played cards with my friends. The card games were a way to make a little money back when jobs were scarce and money was even scarcer for me and my friends. In another instance, I had a card table and chairs set up to actually eat my meals off of during a particularly rough economic patch. I found that card table sitting outside on the curb of a house that had a rent sign in front of it, so I imagine the previous owner of the table had been evicted and the landlord had thrown out the small dining table along with the other household items surrounding it. Since the table was in pretty good shape, and there were no tears or horrible stains on the top and the metal legs were still functional, I took it home and served roasted chicken on it to my girlfriend. Later, as I prospered a bit as a writer of fiction, I splurged and bought myself a new card table and chairs that matched quite nicely, and I acquired another girlfriend who brought me a tablecloth to but over this card table. Let me tell you, I felt pretty uptown as I served roasted chicken on that card table. Overall, my experience with both used and new card tables and chairs has been good, and I highly recommend investigating a card table and chairs as a wise and useful purchase.
